——The School of Management and Engineering Holds a Seminar on Education and Teaching Work for the 2022 Undergraduate Graduating Class

To thoroughly implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, effectively advance the academic improvement and high-quality full employment of undergraduate students, and pool the joint efforts of all faculty in education, the School of Management and Engineering of Nanjing University held a seminar on education and teaching work for the 2022 undergraduate graduating class at the Administrative Building on the morning of March 16. Chen Hui, Deputy Party Secretary of the School, and Yang Xuewei, Vice Dean of the School, attended the meeting. Also present were Li Haohua, an outstanding representative of head teachers, Hu Qian, Liu Fan, Wei Jingwen and Huang Junkai, head teachers of the 2022 undergraduate students, Cai Yujiao, academic administrator for undergraduate students, and Zhuang Bingqing, counselor. The meeting was presided over by Chen Hui, Deputy Party Secretary of the School.


At the meeting, Cai Yujiao, the academic administrator, reported on the progress of academic work for the 2022 undergraduate students, comprehensively sorted out the specific situations of current students with academic difficulties, and fully communicated with the participating teachers on subsequent measures such as precise assistance and classified guidance, clarifying the key points and implementation paths for academic advancement in the next stage.

Subsequently, Zhuang Bingqing, the counselor, reported on the employment implementation of the 2022 undergraduate students, analyzing the current employment data from the dimensions of further education and job hunting. Aiming at problems such as unbalanced employment progress and differentiated industry choices, she put forward targeted measures including strengthening interview training, accurately pushing job vacancies, and providing full-process tracking services. She also stated that the school will continue to strengthen the coordination and joint efforts with head teachers to effectively do a good job in employment services and guarantees for graduates.

In the experience sharing session, Li Haohua, the outstanding representative of head teachers, combined with his own practical experience in class management, took the time axis of the work of head teachers for the graduating class as the thread, and shared experience and practices in class learning atmosphere construction, personalized student guidance, and the promotion of internships and employment, providing reference work ideas for other head teachers. Afterwards, each head teacher reported on the work progress of their respective classes one by one, conducted in-depth discussions on the difficult problems in key work such as academic assistance, employment guidance and psychological care, pooled wisdom, and jointly planned solutions.


In the exchange, Chen Hui, Deputy Party Secretary of the School, pointed out that all head teachers should adhere to the original aspiration of education, strengthen their sense of responsibility, adhere to targeted policies and precise efforts. While guiding graduates to seek employment in key industries, they should pay close attention to students' physical and mental health, integrate the support for students' growth and development into the whole process of graduation season work, and make every effort to promote the high-quality full employment of graduates.


Finally, Vice Dean Yang Xuewei delivered a concluding speech. He fully affirmed the hard work and educational achievements of the head teacher team for the 2022 undergraduate students, and emphasized the need to always adhere to the student-centered approach and serve students, organically combine academic early warning with employment services, and effectively solve the urgent, difficult and anxious problems of students. He made arrangements for the work in the next stage: first, to consolidate responsibilities and refine assistance plans to ensure the steady improvement of students with academic difficulties; second, to make precise efforts and strengthen employment guidance to help students achieve high-quality full employment; third, to strengthen coordination and linkage, form a joint force of head teachers, academic administrators and counselors, and continuously improve the quality of education.


This seminar comprehensively reviewed the current situation of academic development and employment work for the 2022 undergraduate students, further unified thinking, built consensus and clarified tasks, laying a solid foundation for effectively carrying out all work for the undergraduate graduation season. In the future, taking this meeting as an opportunity, the School will continue to deepen the concept of integrating education and teaching, closely combine ideological guidance, academic guidance, employment services and value shaping, promote the quality and efficiency of education work with the Nanjing University-style striving spirit, effectively implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and contribute the strength of the School of Management and Engineering to cultivating new people of the times who are worthy of the mission of national rejuvenation.
